I grew up one-day eventing, but after attending Stock Horse youth camps, I was introduced to the world of campdrafting—and I’ve been hooked ever since. I campdrafted part-time throughout school and university, and was fortunate enough to qualify for the national finals on several occasions.
Since completing my university studies in Education, I’ve shifted my focus toward improving both my horsemanship and my performance in the campdraft arena. Looking ahead, one of my key goals is to refine my riding and training practices to get the best out of my horses. I’ve been actively learning from riders I admire, aiming to build a solid, consistent training program that sets both me and my horses up for success.
My partner and I have also begun breeding our own line of horses, it’s a long process but I’m incredibly excited to begin bringing them through the ranks in the coming years. My long-term dream is to have a truck full of home-bred, home-trained horses that we’re successfully campaigning and winning on.
I absolutely love my team of horses. I have two main mares in my team which I’ve achieved some recent success on and a few young ones on the truck coming through. I love my mares, they’re very special to me, Woodstock Special, my open mare had many successes last year before going out to foal in the spring. She’s back on the truck now and I’m excited for our up coming season. My other mare Minicon is a mare I always dreamed of owning so I am so grateful to have her at home, I love riding her whether it’s competing, mustering, training or just general riding. I am hoping to breed some cool foals out of her in the coming years. As far as young horses go we have a few cool ones coming along, I am loving riding them and hope they also enjoy some success down the road.
I owe a great deal of my recent success to the support network around me—my parents, my friends, and most importantly, my partner Sam. I’m incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by talented, generous, and uplifting people. Over the past 12 months especially, I’ve had so many people help me reach my goals, and I genuinely so grateful for all of them.
I still have so much to learn and so many goals I want to achieve, but I’m incredibly grateful for the people in my corner.
I absolutely love the Stockman & Co winter range. Living in Carcoar, NSW, where a top of 6 degrees during the day isn’t uncommon, quality outerwear is a must. I’m always reaching for their jumpers, jackets, and vests.
We live a very outdoors lifestyle, and with Sam managing his family’s farm, there’s never a shortage of jobs to be done—so having durable, warm gear that holds up to everyday use is essential. I’m also crossing my fingers that Stockman & Co beanies are in the pipeline…
I’m also really looking forward to the summer range—summer is my favourite time of year, and I love how tough and practical their shirts are while still looking great.
