Emily comes from British Columbia in Canada, having competed in rodeo events since she was 7 years old. Rodeo has essentially run in her blood since she was born, with her dad renowned for saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, bull riding, and steer wrestling and her mum competing in barrel racing whilst maintaining a career as an equine massage therapist.
The rodeo bug didn't stop there for her family. In 2022, Emily handed over the reins of her main rodeo horse to her little sister to begin competing on, meanwhile training and raising young horses herself to advance her rodeo team.
"Training my own has been challenging but also very rewarding, and I am extremely proud of how they are doing in competitions".
Having qualified and competed in the Canadian Barrel Racing Finals in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022- her 2023 season is looking promising for both of her horses to enter the British Columbia Barrel Racing Finals.
