From the lower Hunter region of NSW, Blayne Parkinson was brought up around the rodeo scene and was riding horses before he could walk.
"I have always had horses to ride and travelling down the road meeting new people brings a different love for the sport. I have been competing for longer than I can remember riding steers, barrel racing, and roping as a junior competitor, winning steer riding average at finals and APRA junior breakaway title. I also won my open heading rookie title as a junior
I have been lucky growing up in the family that I have always having good horses under me or needing a tune up I owe alot of who I am today to my parents Lu and Steve, my brother Ty, sister Candice and her finance Joel have all had a big influence on me to get me to where I am today. My biggest supporter is my finance Sam who pushes me to aim higher."
Blayne has qualified for 16 NFRs from junior to open age groups and has won himself plenty of buckles and a saddle over the years. Along with those achievements, he has competed on Team Roping's biggest stage the world series Team Roping in Las Vegas, USA.
"In 2024 I would like to chase a heading title, would be nice to have one under my belt as I think my dad has 6 so would be satisfying to know that we both have one. I have also set a goal to stay consistant till finals and have a run at the average in the team roping but I will just keep roping one steer at a time and what happens happens.
I have been very fortunate to pick up Stockman N Co as a sponsor and very grateful for their support and hope to have a long partnership with not just a great business but a great bloke and family"
